What we collect and why

If you email us, we receive your email address, name and the information you choose to provide, including your Gurdwara’s details and website requirements. We use this to answer enquiries, prepare a quote, deliver and support the service and manage our relationship with you. Do not email card details, passwords or sensitive information about members of your sangat.

When you order, Stripe processes payment and billing details. We receive order, organisation, contact, subscription and payment-status information needed to fulfil and administer the service, but not your full card number.

We process information to take steps at your request before a contract, perform our contract, meet legal and accounting duties, and pursue legitimate interests in answering business enquiries, protecting the service and maintaining appropriate records.

Hosting, payments and email processors

Netlify hosts this website and processes technical request information such as IP addresses, browser information and access or security logs to deliver and protect it. Stripe provides the hosted payment checkout and payment/subscription processing. Our email service providers process correspondence when you contact us and when we reply. We do not sell personal information.

These providers may process information outside the UK. Applicable data-protection safeguards, such as approved contractual clauses, are used where required. See Netlify’s privacy policy and Stripe’s privacy policy for their processing. Your own email provider also processes messages you send.

Cookies, storage and links

This marketing website uses no analytics, advertising trackers or cookies set by us. Your currency and add-on selections are held only in the current page and are not submitted to us. We therefore do not use a cookie consent banner. Stripe checkout is a separate service with its own privacy and cookie information.

Links to the Gravesend design preview take you to a separate preview website, not an official Gurdwara site. Its tools may store learning or practice progress in that browser and some retrieve external content. Those tools are not embedded or run on this marketing site.

Retention and security

We retain enquiries and service records only for as long as necessary to answer you, provide the service, resolve disputes and meet legal or accounting obligations. Retention depends on the purpose and applicable requirements. Access is limited to those who need it for the service. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact hello@gurdwaraweb.com; we may need to verify your identity. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would welcome the opportunity to address your concern first.

Minimal collection and safeguarding

A request for your 3–4 free designs needs only your contact information, Gurdwara name and brief; no card is required. We request only information needed to respond or deliver the agreed service.

We do not publish children’s personal details or photos on class or event pages unless the committee confirms appropriate consent. Please do not send children’s information or photographs with an initial enquiry.

The committee must approve permissions for any later supplied content.

Your language preference

If you choose a language, we remember that choice in localStorage on this device. This is a functional preference, not a tracking cookie, and is not sent to us. You can change it in the language menu or clear your browser’s site storage. The committee pack and legal pages remain in English; the English legal version applies.
